Why play Tango here

How to play

  1. Tap an empty cell for a sun, again for a moon, again to clear it.
  2. Every row and column needs three suns and three moons, never three alike in a row.
  3. = means the two cells match; × means they are opposite.
  4. Cells that break a rule turn red. Hint: press once to see where to look, again for the cells and why.
  5. On a keyboard: click the board or Tab to it, move with the arrow keys, press S for a sun, M for a moon, Space to cycle, Backspace to clear.

Questions

Is Tango Game Unlimited free?

Yes. Every board plays free in your browser: no sign-up, no download, no daily limit.

Is this the official LinkedIn Tango?

No. LinkedIn gives you one Tango a day; these are extra sun-and-moon boards we made in the same style. Stuck on the official one? See today's Tango answer.

What are the rules?

Fill every cell with a sun or a moon. Each row and column has three of each, never three alike side by side; = between two cells means they match and × means they are opposite.

Can every board be solved without guessing?

Yes. Before a board goes in, our solver fills it cell by cell with the rules alone; on Hard boards it may test one cell and back out when that breaks a rule, never more. It also confirms the solution is the only one.

What makes the Hard boards hard?

On a Hard board the basic rules stall partway. To go on, you picture one cell as a sun, see that it breaks a rule a few moves later, and so know it must be a moon.

Is there a daily Tango?

Yes. Daily Tango Unlimited gives everyone the same new board each day. It starts Easy on Monday and Tuesday, turns Medium from Wednesday to Friday and is Hard on Saturday and Sunday.

Can I play with a keyboard?

Yes. Click the board or Tab to it, move with the arrow keys, press S for a sun, M for a moon, Space to cycle and Backspace to clear. Screen readers hear each cell as you move.

Where is my progress saved?

Only on this device: your browser keeps your solved count and best time for each level and your daily streak, and we don't see them.
